Make sure your primer complements your foundation. Oil or water, primer and foundation should be the same base. Otherwise, they will repel each other or slide off your face, making it difficult to blend.
Avoid peach fuzz. Always apply foundation downwards. Most of us have a thin layer on our face, and applying foundation in an upward stroke will make the hair strands stand out.
Lightly dab the foundation onto the skin. Avoid wiping or rubbing as it will shift the foundation and leave streaks.
